Course Objectives:

In this course Dr. Levine will discuss some basic laser science principles. The utilization of laser in a variety of oral surgical procedures and laser assisted periodontial therapy. The latest in oral saliva testing technologies and how they can help in providing the patient with optimal information about oral health. The implementation of innovative toothbrushing and interdental products to help support the successful treatment of our laser treated patients. 


By the end of this course doctors will be able to:

    •  Proper maintenance by the patient will be one of the  determining factors for  

         success in perio therapy

  • Learn the 3 pillars of iTOP: acceptable, effective and atraumatic

  • Discover iTop individual techniques and skills to pass this invaluable knowledge on to your patients

  • Alternative diagnostic tools available in accessing potential certain risk factors in the oral environment 

  • Utilizing of laser technologies in the support of periodontial therapy and post oral surgical procedures 

  • Practice (Touch to Teach) techniques on yourself and others

Dr.  Levine, President of Global Laser Oral Health (GLOH), has been in the field of dentistry since 1973 and graduated from NY University. Dr. Levine has 11 years of experience in the laser arena, both in academic and private practice. He is also the co-developer of the first accepted laser curriculum at an accredited US Dental School.  Dr. Levine is presently the Director of Laser Dentistry at the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ASDOH), where he provides clinical hands-on training to students and post-graduate residents.  He also works heavily in the Special Care Dentistry arena where he applies his skill and use of technology to this special group of patients. Dr. Levine sees the need for introducing to the dental profession a comprehensive pathway to laser technologies. As president of GLOH, he has a series of training programs for lasers and helps dentists understand the potential benefits for their patients and practice.
